PM POSHAN Odisha: A Solution for Monitoring and Implementing the Mid-Day Meal Scheme
PM POSHAN Odisha is a web and mobile app developed by the National Informatics Centre in association with the Government of Odisha. The app is designed to monitor and implement the PM POSHAN Scheme, formerly known as the Mid-Day Meal Scheme, which aims to address the issues of hunger and education for eligible children in India.
With this app, data is collected from field functionaries on a daily basis through SMS. The data includes the number of beneficiaries served, reasons for not serving the meal to some students, and the presence or absence of cook-cum-helpers with reasons. This data flows from the school level to the block level, then to the district level, and finally to the state level, notifying all concerned authorities.
The collected data is then presented in a dashboard analysis on the web app, allowing authorities to make informed decisions based on the information provided. This app serves as a crucial tool in improving the nutritional status of eligible children and encouraging their regular attendance in schools.
